You may be surprised to learn that alongside Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery, the Key Theatre, sports venues and libraries, Vivacity also looks after a collection of sculptures. As part of our work with schools, Vivacity Arts offer pupils the opportunity to take part in exciting sculptural workshops. From abstract works like Anthony Caro’s ‘Lagoon’, to figurative work like ‘Places to Be’ by Antony Gormley, students will take their ideas and learn how to transform them into 3D objects. With a particular focus on Art, Design and Technology, pupils will develop their problem solving and communication skills as well as technical skills involved in making sculpture. Some sessions will see students working in groups, encouraging teamwork and discussion.
