History in an Hour
KS2 & KS3 school session at Peterborough Museum
£120 per group of up to 30 pupils
Overview
covid update: capacity reduced to one class only for this session during the Summer Term 2021.
Only have time for a short visit? Get a bitesize chunk of local history in just one hour with one of our Living History sessions and transport your pupils back in time to experience life in the past.
An ideal way to incorporate a Museum visit alongside another day activity you may already have planned or to add a Museum-led activity to an independent visit, choose from one of our three options below:
- Meet a Victorian Doctor or Nurse
- Dr Jex-Blake or Matron Edith Cavell will be on hand in our original Victorian Operating Theatre to give firsthand knowledge of what life was like for hospital staff and patients in the 1800s and how ailments were treated in the past
- Meet Mary Anning
- The famous fossil hunter, will show you round our Jurassic Gallery and ask your students - what do these fossils tell us about Jurassic life?
- Meet a Roman surgeon
- Imagine you live in Roman Britain and you're feeling poorly. Pop into our Roman gallery and meet the surgeon to hear about how she can treat your illnesses. Do you think a trip to the surgeon will make you feel better?
Adaptable for all key stages.
Can't come to us? We can bring one or more of these Living History characters to your school! Please contact us for more information.
