Natural History Collection

The Natural History collection covers a wide area of subjects including shells, butterflies and moths (Lepidoptera), as well as stuffed animals (taxidermy).


The taxidermy contains examples of birds, fish, and mammals.

Bird Eggs

The birds eggs collection contains a small historic collection used for research.


The lepidoptera collection is largely comprised of UK moths with a small selection of butterflys.


The coleoptera collection contains a historic collection of local and UK based beetles.


The herbaruim collection is a small historic collection from private collectors.


The fungi collection contains examples of locally found fungi including modern examples.


The museum has a small osteology collection mostly of mammal bones, which is used primarily for education.


The small concology collection contains shells from around the world.
